## About the Author — Founder & Editor

I started LEDLightingInfo.com in 2015, after the third time I asked a hardware-store clerk a technical question about LED bulbs and got a confidently wrong answer. A decade later, I'm still writing.

I'm not an electrician — I'm a software engineer. That sounds like a weird background for a lighting site, until you notice most LED advice online has the same problem as bad code: untested claims passed around until they become "facts."

I read manufacturer spec sheets the way I read API docs — line by line, comparing them against what I can actually measure, looking for the edge cases vendors don't put on the box.

What I do have: ten years of using LED bulbs in my own home, the patience to read manufacturer spec sheets and standards docs (Energy Star, IES, electrical code) line by line, and a short list of working electricians I message when something is over my head. When I get something wrong, you'll find a dated correction in the article itself — not a quiet edit.
