H7 is one of the most widely used headlight bulb types in the world, found in everything from Volkswagens to BMWs to Hyundais. It's a single-filament bulb — meaning one H7 handles either low beam or high beam, but not both (that's the H4's job).

The standard H7 halogen runs at 55W and produces about 1,500 lumens with a color temperature around 3200K (warm yellowish-white). LED H7 replacements typically offer 3,000-6,000 lumens at 6000K (cool white), which is a dramatic visibility improvement — though the higher color temperature is a preference divide. Some drivers prefer the natural look of 4300K LED replacements.

The catch with LED H7 upgrades is the base clip design. H7 uses a PX26d base, but different car manufacturers use different retaining mechanisms — some need adapters, and some LED bulbs have heat sinks that don't fit behind the headlight housing's dust cover. Always check fitment for your specific make and model.
